The E82 1 Series Coupe and E88 1 Series Convertible are the most compact rear-wheel-drive BMWs of their generation -- shorter than an E46, lighter than an E90, and packing everything from the naturally aspirated 230-horsepower N52 in the 128i to the twin-turbo N54 and later N55 in the 135i. The 135i in particular is a cult favorite: a small, powerful, turbocharged coupe that responds dramatically to tuning and benefits significantly from reducing unsprung rotating mass. The factory wheels were 17-inch or 18-inch cast units, and a forged monoblock upgrade transforms how this chassis accelerates, brakes, and turns.
The E82 and E88 share a 5x120 bolt pattern with M-specific offset. The 135i's suspension geometry is closer to the 1M than the 128i -- wider track, larger brake calipers, and tighter clearance between the wheel and the strut housing. The offset must clear the six-piston front calipers on the 135i and the single-piston sliding calipers on the 128i without requiring spacers, while sitting flush with the subtly flared arches that the 135i uses to accommodate its wider track. Our offset is measured on a real E82 135i chassis, accounting for both the 128i and 135i brake configurations. The wheels bolt directly to the factory hubs hub-centrically.
Forged 6061-T6 aluminum monoblock. Available in 18-inch for a period-correct profile that matches the factory sport package dimensions, or 19-inch for a more aggressive stance. Custom spoke design -- a deep-concave mesh, a split-spoke, or a modern multi-spoke. Brushed, polished, hyper silver, gunmetal, satin black, bronze, or custom color. The E82 135i is one of the best tuning platforms BMW ever built, and a forged wheel set is the first modification that improves every performance metric simultaneously. Machined or laser-etched logo. Private-label packaging. Your Spec. Our Factory.
