BMW M2 G87 WHEELS

The G87 M2 is the heaviest M2 ever built -- 1,725 kilograms with the manual transmission, powered by the same S58 twin-turbo inline-six that drives the G80 M3 and G82 M4. The factory wheels are cast and heavy, and on a car that already carries more mass than its predecessor, every kilogram of unsprung weight removed from each corner pays back in acceleration, braking distance, and steering feel. Forged monoblock wheels are the single most effective weight reduction on the G87 chassis.

The G87's fitment is aggressive. The factory staggered setup runs a 19-inch front and 20-inch rear -- a larger diameter split than the F87 -- with widths and offsets designed to cover the massive M compound brake rotors and fill the wide box-flared arches. The rear arches in particular are wider than anything BMW has put on an M2 before, and the offset must sit the wheel flush without poking past the arch under compression. Our offset is measured on a real G87 M2, not extrapolated from G42 2 Series data. The wheels clear the factory brakes. They clear the M Performance brake upgrade. They sit exactly where they should in the arch without spacers.

The S58 under the hood of the G87 makes 453 horsepower in standard form and responds to tuning the way every S58 does -- more boost, more timing, more power. That power goes through the rear tires only. A lighter forged wheel reduces the rotating mass the drivetrain has to accelerate, and it reduces the unsprung mass the dampers have to control when the rear tires are fighting for grip out of a corner.
